Course Description

This is a full-day program helping homebuilder and renovation teams learn how to effectively deal with codes, owner expectations, indoor comfort and IAQ, in regards to window performance, HVAC distribution design – Using hands-on demonstrations & measurement tools and guidance documents.  Attendees will learn the steps, tips, tools, processes to assess and measure window performance and HVAC distribution performance — both at the design stage and in the field; both for construction and after sales service “forensics” or problem solving.

Learning Objectives:

1. The comfort challenge associated with the intermittent solar gains of large windows in high performance, low load houses.
2. The challenge of distributing heating and cooling loads to match the comfort expectations of homeowners in very energy efficient homes using existing forced air and refrigerant based heating and cooling systems
