What should I expect on my final exam day? (ProctorU exam step-by-step)
All licensing course final exams are conducted by a 3rd party proctoring service provider, ProctorU. Students must self-schedule their final exam through ProctorU in advance. On your exam day:
Locate the exam you wish to take in the Scheduled Exams table.
If your exam is ready to launch, click Launch Exam to begin the pre-check process.
Your designated proctor will guide you through the pre-screening process.
Once pre-screening is done, your proctor will ask you to show your name in your profile. Go to mycpd.chbabc.org > Profile (on the top right corner), show your name in your account
Once your name matches, your proctor will ask you to locate your exam. Go to mycpd.chbabc.org > My Courses > Builder Licensing > select your course > online final exam > Start > Start quiz
At this stage, you will be prompted at the exam screen. Your proctor will then enter their ProctorU credentials (username and password) to unlock the exam.
Once the exam is unlocked by your proctor, you will have three hours to complete it.
After submitting the whole exam, you will receive your score instantly.
Delete your whiteboard and/or destroy any scrap paper used, inform your proctor that the exam is complete, and then close the browser.
We recommend testing your equipment prior to exam day. Be sure to test the equipment you are planning to use on exam day so you can troubleshoot any issues. To test your computer, log into your ProctorU account and click the button that says “Test Your Equipment” or use this link test your equipment.
The Guardian Browser: For most exams proctored through the ProctorU Platform, you will need to download the Guardian Browser. For a guide on how to download and install guardian as well as troubleshooting tips check our guide on Guardian Browser installation.
The ‘CHBA BC Student How To – Setup ProctorU Account for Online Exam Taking’ PDF file can also be downloaded for reference within the ‘Resources > Builder Licensing Courses‘ section. Please review this guidebook before booking your exam. It is strongly recommended that students check their technical equipment prior to their online exam.
