Course Description

This session will focus on climate change and its direct impact on the building industry.

  • Learn more about preventative measures to reduce risk and improve resiliency using step code and other performance codes.
  • Learn to manage resiliency with low carbon fuels
  • Reduce reliance on the grid and make backup systems small and manageable.
  • Explore the wind and seismic codes, and how it has changed and why.
  • Learn why water damage is the most costly of all claims

This session will also offer builders a chance to go behind the scenes of the insurance industry to learn more about how damages from climate change impact costs.

  • Learn what builders can do to lower rates and how it all works.
