Course Description

This video-based eLearning course introduces you to engineered wood products, or EWPs, used in floor systems, and provides a thorough exploration of the key factors affecting floor system performance.

This course was produced in association with APA, The Engineered Wood Association, and provides insights into how to identify and address key factors through effective design strategies that can be used to produce engineered wood floor systems with exceptional reliability and long-lasting performance.

By the end of this course, you will be able to:

  • Understand Effective Design Strategies that can be applied to enhance the structural performance and serviceability of EWP floor systems.
  • Recognize Common Pitfalls in floor system design that lead to callbacks, and learn how to avoid them through proactive planning.
  • Apply Best Practices for optimizing material selection, system coordination, and detailing to create efficient, high-performance floor systems with minimal field issues.
