Are you ready for the next edition of the BC Building Code (BCBC), or thinking of building small-scale multi-unit housing projects? Registered Building Official, Ken Kunka, will walk you through key changes for BCBC 2024 that come into effect on March 8, 2024.  The webinar will cover a discussion on existing and potential challenges.

The webinar will include a review of the following:

      • Accessibility (3.8.2 – 9.5.2.3.)
      • Specific Loads (9.4.2.)
      • Required Guards (9.8) – window protection
      • Fire Protection (9.10) – mezzanines, fire separations, firestopping and spatial requirements
      • Fire Department access, Fire flows and Fire Suppression (NFPA) changes
      • Radon provisions (9.13) Depressurization rough-in, (9.25) air barriers
      • Footings & Foundations (9.15)
      • Framing (9.23)
      • Heat Transfer, Air Leakage, & Condensation Control (9.25)
      • Roofing & Cladding (9.26, 9.27) – changes to ICF
      • Interior Cladding & Ceiling Finishes (9.29)
      • Overheating (9.33 + 6.2.1.1)
      • Greenhouse Gas Emissions (9.37) – local regulations
